SRH Team 2024 IPL Players List, Squads

SRH Team

After finishing at the bottom of the table last season, SRH would be determined to make IPL 2024 their comeback season, as they did in 2016 when they became the champions after they finished 6th out of eight teams during the 2015 edition.

SRH had done a lot of homework for the IPL auction and went for their target players aggressively as they had the purse to do so. With the addition of world champions Pat Cummins, Travis Head, and the T20 global star Wannidu Hasaranga, SRH has improved their players in the overseas slots who failed to impress last season. The latest buzz is that SRH management has decided to make the World cup winning captain Pat Cummins their captain for this season has lightened up the excitement in the fans.

Only Harry Brook and Adil Rashid seemed to be first-team players who were released ahead of the auction, which is quite surprising after a disappointing season.

Here’s a list of those who have been retained by the team:

Squad Strength – 25 (Indian-18, Overseas-7)

SRH’s squad looks pretty good with their star-studded Overseas options. Honestly, they have the best foreign options this season. They also possess great domestic talents like Jhatavedh Subramaniam, Sanvir Singh, and Upendra Yadav, who could feature in the playing 11 at some stage of the season.

SRH’s Strengths

Undoubtedly, their strength lies in their overseas options, but the challenge is to play only four, among players like Aiden Markram, Glenn Phillips, Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Marco Jansen, Pat Cummins, and Wanindu Hasaranga.

SRH’s bowling is also very impressive, featuring the likes of Pat Cummins, Wanindu Hasaranga, Umran Malik, Washington Sundar, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar. They excel in both the fast bowling and spin bowling departments.

Key players for SRH this season are

  1. Pat Cummins
  2. Heinrich Klaasen
  3. Travis Head
  4. Rahul Tripathi
  5. Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

With a decent squad, SRH would fancy their chances to the playoff if they can pick a balanced playing 11 consistently throughout the season which they failed to do so last season.
