Virat Kohli took over the captaincy reins in Test cricket from MS Dhoni in December 2014. Under his leadership, the Indian team witnessed a new era of dominance and aggressive cricket.
In the year 2018, Kohli had become the first Indian Captain to retain Border Gavaskar Trophy on Australian soil since 2003-04. He had also become the first Asian Captain to register Test wins against Australia, South Africa and England in the same calendar year.
